Athabasca University is situated in Athabasca, Alberta. It was established in 1970. It is one of the fastest growing universities in Canada. A candidate can take up either French or English as their mode of instruction. There are more than 29,000 students. The university was set up by the Alberta Government. The Centre for Innovative Management which is at Athabasca University started the first online Master of Business Administration program. The executive director of the centre Dr. Alex Kondra runs the centre very successfully. St. Alberta, Alberta is the office of the centre. The year 2004 saw the course Executive MBA course rated as one of the top 75 which is delivered online.
Course Details: 
There are online programs offered by the Centre, besides graduate diplomas. The programs offered by the Centre are to develop a strategic organizational perspective and develop a critical mind. Building Leadership abilities and personal skills are some of the main focus of the programs offered by the Centre for Innovative Management. There are online Executive programs along with online doctorate degrees and graduate diplomas in management. There is Management Development programs offered too. Online study program is the prime focus of the university. And the flexible programs offered make students from all across the globe to come and study over there.
Admission Procedure: 
A minimum of two years of work experience is preferred when one wants to gain admission to the school. If one has 8 years of experience then he/she can directly apply to the phase two of the program. International students need to present GMAT scores along with TOEFL scores. If the grades are good then one can be assured to get admission in the school. One requires the following documents when he/she is applying for admission.

Accommodation facilities 
Athabasca University offers standard accommodation including special facilities for students with disabilities. Accommodation and Food services are a part of the accommodation facilities. Off-campus housing is available near the school campus/centre. It may be a hotel or hostel but those are best suited for short term accommodation. Off-campus housing has one drawback as they have to travel everyday to the college.
